Skin Rejuvenation

Photorejuvenation

BBL is an innovative technology that allows you technician to precisely treat sun damage and age spots, small facial veins, and rosacea.  Your treatment will be tailored to match your skin type and desired results.

How does BBL work?

The light energy delivered by the BBL handpiece will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to generate new collagen. This will help restore your skin to it’s natural beauty. In addition, the photothermal energy will target and eliminate many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions. The end result is smoother, vibrant, and younger looking skin.

What areas can be treated?

Any area of the body can be treated. The most common areas are those most exposed to the damaging effects of the sun. The most popular treatments are for the face, neck, back of the hands, chest and shoulders.

How many treatments will I need?

Usually 2-5 treatments, at 2-4 week intervals will produce the desired results. A package of treatments can be tailored to meet your specific needs.

What should I expect after treatment?

This is a non-invasive, gentle procedure with virtually no downtime. In most cases, you will be able to resume all your normal activities and apply makeup. You may experience some redness and occasionally very minor swelling. This will resolve within a few hours. The pigmented areas and capillaries treated may appear darker temporarily. This is normal. The pigmenteds areas will flake off at a later stage and the redness will soon fade away. Your skin will feel smoother, fine wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable and uneven skin tones will improve significantly.

FAQ

How does ProFractional work?

ProFractional uses a tiny laser beam to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of your skin. When should I expect results?

As your skin heals in the days following your treatment, you may notice a general tightening effect. However, the true benefit of ProFractional is the collagen remodeling that occurs during the 4 to 6 months following your treatment.

Skin Tightening Therapy

Sciton’s BBL is utilized with an added skin tightening filter. The proper combination of skin surface cooling and pulsed light treatment create a beneficial rise in temperature at a desirable point below the skin surface. Collagen is targeted and it is made to partially coagulate and contract. After a series of treatments, a tightening of the skin can be achieved.

FAQ

How many treatments will it take before I see results?

This is not an overnight process. A tightening of the skin can be felt immediately post-treatment, but a series of treatments every 2-4 weeks are needed to achieve optimum results. Improvement in the skin continues over the next six months.

Will the treatment be painful?

There should be minimal discomfort during this procedure. The handpiece utilized contains a cold chill plate, which helps with any discomfort and keeps the skin cool and protected. The feeling of the pulsed light can be compared to that of the snap of a small rubber band.

A mild to moderate sunburn sensation can be present and a tightening should be noticed for up to 2 hours after your treatment. There should be no significant discomfort, and you'll experience no “down-time” as a result of this procedure. You can resume your normal activities and skin care. Makeup can be worn immediately post-treatment.

Superficial Skin Resurfacing – MicroLaserPeel®

A MicroLaserPeel removes a thin layer of damaged skin to improve texture and provide a more youthful appearance. It provides superior results because it can be administered with great precision of depth.

How does MicroLaserPeel work?

The MicroLaserPeel's beam is scanned over a treatment area to remove a very thin layer of the skin. Removing the top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired, aged look. As the skin heals, freash cells grow and resurface the treated area. The result is healthier-looking skin, often with reduced wrinkles and improved color evenness.

What conditions can be treated with MicroLaserPeel?

- Mild wrinkles
- Scars
- Keratosis
- Sun Damage (e.g., freckles)
- Pigment irregularities

What areas of the body can be treated?

Most skin areas can be treated. Popular treatment areas are the face and neck, though many people also treat the chest and hands.

How many treatments will I need?

Excellent results can be obtained in just one treatment, though the number of treatments may vary from patient to patient.

Will it be uncomfortable?

One of the primary advantages of MicroLaserPeel is that it causes little pain because it does not penetrate very deep into the skin. At its most shallow settings, most people can tollerate treatment with no anesthetic at all. At deeper settings, a topical numbing cream is typically used.

What should I expect immediately after my treatment?

Immediately following the procedure you will notice that the skin has a "frosty" appearance. This is the dehydrated skin that will peel away within the next few days following the treatment. You may experiance some skin redness and a sensation resembling sunburn, as well as mild swelling.

When should I expect results?

Because only the outer layer of skin is treated, most patients notice an obvious improvement in tone, texture and color evenness once the skin heals in approximately 3-4 days.

Spider Veins

Using the Profile Clearscan Laser, we are able to safely and effectively treat visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, vascular lesions and discoloration of your skin. Clearscan is a new laser using infared energy. Unwanted vessels will be preferentially heated by the laser’s energy and become less noticeable.

What areas can be treated?

All skin areas can be treated. Popular areas are the face, neck, chest and legs. Smaller vessels are easily treated, but some larger vessels such as bulging varicose veins in the legs can be more difficult to treat and may require other treatment plans. A consultation is required to determine your specific needs.

How many treatments will I need?

Small vessels can be easily eradicated in one treatment, but some cluster areas of vessels may require repeat treatments.

What should I expect after treatment?

Your skin will have a pink or red color that will resolve over time. Any vessels denatured by the laser will be reabsorbed by your body over a period of time in a natural cleansing process. Most small capillaries will become invisible almost immediately since they will no longer contain blood flow. Some larger areas of cluster vessels will require a longer healing period and may be pink or red or even appear bruised for a short time. Your skin will be sensitive to ultraviolet light and you must avoid direct sunlight on treated areas until you are fully healed.

Will it be uncomfortable?

There should be little to no discomfort, however this varies from client to client and depends on the depth of the treatment.
